Tips on Flying Like a Pro-Part 1
Flying can be stressful. Getting to the airport on time, praying that you remembered to pack all that you need, different time zones, long layovers, and crowded airport, all this can be stressful. There are steps that can help you feel relaxed and ready to do whatever awaits you at your destination.
In case you are here, for the first time, and don't know who we are. We are Independent Travel Consultants, we provide travel services, tips and advice and gifts to meet your gift-giving needs. Feel Free to browse our site.
Flight Tips
Book your first flight of the day. There is less chance that you would face delays, since the planes are already at the airport. Bring disinfecting wipes to wipe down the seat, tray and arm rest, especially when flying with children, they tend to put their hands in their mouth, rub their eyes. Have a clean surface area for their snacks on the flight and cleaning their hands and your's is good practice
Flying with only carry-on luggage when ever possible. This would apply to business travelers or people who are traveling alone. Tip: There's no chance of your bag getting lost and you don't have to wait around after you land.
Do not book your connecting flight that gives you less than an hour between flights especially when traveling international. Tip: Having a longer layover is better than missing your connection and being stranded at the airport for the next flight.
Arrive early to avoid unnecessary stress. If your airline gives you the option to check-in and pay for your luggage online, this can save you time, extra money and stress. Signup to TSA Precheck
Nervous Flyers
Make friends on the plane. I do, I explain that I am nervous and this can create conversation with the person next to you. It's a good distraction for you. Listens to music. It can help calm you down as well as put you to sleep too.
Air sickness. Use ginger. If you are prone to motion sickness, drink ginger ale or chew on ginger to soothe your stomach. Check with your medical professional for over the counter medication. Drink water. Make sure you are hydrated and avoid alcoholic beverage or coffee. Remember to breathe, take deep breaths this helps to relax your muscles.
